Take steps to prevent frozen water pipes | News

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Today is a good day for residents and business owners to take the necessary steps to prevent exposed water pipes and plumbing from freezing.

Check for exposed pipes and plumbing that carry or contain water; this includes backflow assemblies, irrigation systems, evaporative coolers and cooling towers.

Foam and wrap insulation are some of the items that can be used to protect these things from freezing.  If you do not have these items use towels, blankets and newspapers temporarily.

Tucson Water has created a web site and videos with information on keeping water pipes safe.
